Shanghai Library Director Wu Jianzhong gave an Expo-themed lecture in Shaanxi Library yesterday afternoon, as part of the Expo promotion week in the northwestern China province.
Wu, also counselor for the Expo’s theme development, elaborated on World Expo’s history, its role and significance, and introduced the main content of Expo 2010, which will open on May 1 in Shanghai.
In his lecture, the director demonstrated the glamour and implication of the world event through multimedia presentations, creating a mesmerizing effect among the audience.
Wu also answered audiences’ questions on how to participate in the Shanghai World Expo.
The lecture, which attracted nearly 500 people, was repeatedly interrupted by warm applauses. The lecture was also broadcast live throughout the province’s prefectures and counties. It was estimated that more than 100,000 people watched the video broadcasting of the lecture.
